NDACo Week 9 Legislative Report

Although it was as short week, the policy committees jumped right into their work and tried to move out as many non-controversial bills as possible.  A 75-day session is still the goal!  Although a number of “county priority” bills had hearings, most did not see committee action – counties must be more controversial!

Next week the pace continues, with plenty of hearings, and longer floor sessions.  Most of the “big money bills”, however will likely not be heard until after the official revenue forecast is released.

MOST IMPORTANTLY however, is the COUNTY OFFICIALS ACADEMY to be held on Monday and Tuesday next week.  Here is where you can hear a full county legislative update, but also learn a whole bunch more about county government, as well as rub shoulders with your county counterparts and your local legislators.  Good learning, good people and good times.  Hope you all can make it.  There is more information on our website at www.ndaco.org/academy
