NDACo Weekly Legislative Report - Pre-Session

With only a weekend and a day away, the Legislative Session is looming large on the horizon.  As noted in the previous post, the Governor will give the 'State of the State' address on Tuesday, and committee hearings will start up bright and early on Wednesday.  Most (but not all) of the hearings will be focused on bills introduced as a result of interim studies, so they are somewhat known quantities.  That however does not make them any less serious.  There are a number of bills scheduled that will take some immediate attention. 

The hearing schedule has been posted below, in much the same format as we have used in previous years. We have again added our own descriptive phrase to each bill to give you our quick take on its subject area.  Also, we are again categorizing them with a letter in front to denote a subject category and anywhere from 0-4 stars, depending upon our initial judgement of its seriousness to counties.  This schedule and a listing of the subject categories can be found in a little bit different format if you click on 'Hearing Schedule' to the left.
